Haulalytics ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at haulalytics.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

2.1 Information you provide
- Account data: email address and password when you register.
- Trip & load data: pickup/delivery locations, mileage, rates, fuel costs, and other figures you enter into the calculator or trip management tools.
- Payment data: processed by our payment partner (Lemon Squeezy). We do not store credit card numbers. We receive your email, subscription ID, and transaction status.
- Contact form: name, email, and message content when you contact us.
- Newsletter: email address if you subscribe.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, timestamps, referrer URL.
- Device data: browser type, operating system, screen resolution, IP address.
- Cookies: session cookies for authentication and analytics cookies (Google Analytics). See Section 7.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
- Process your subscription and payments.
- Calculate route, fuel, toll, and profitability estimates based on the data you provide.
- Provide AI-powered load analysis (data is sent to Anthropic's API for processing and is not stored by Anthropic beyond the request).
- Send transactional emails (password reset, receipts).
- Send marketing emails (newsletter) — only with your explicit consent.
- Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve the Service.
- Detect, prevent, and address abuse and security issues.

5. Data Retention
- Account data: retained for as long as your account is active.
- Trip & load data:retained for as long as your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
- Payment records:retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance.
- Analytics data:retained per Google Analytics default settings (14 months).
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete your account and associated data.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Opt out of marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link.

7. Cookies
- Essential cookies: required for authentication and security. Cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies: Google Analytics uses cookies to measure site usage. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
8. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS/TLS encryption, Content Security Policy headers, CSRF protection, rate limiting, and secure authentication via Supabase. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly.
10. International Users
The Service is hosted in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your data may be transferred to and processed in the US. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. The "Effective date" at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
